Please Help us Feed Hungry Children!

Thanksgiving Giving Project Funded 1,667 meals!

Hunger and giving

I want to thank everyone who participated in the Thanksgiving-giving project.

The project funded 1,667 meals for very poor children. I don’t know about you, but I feel good about that.

The surprising thing, is that those 1,667 meals were purchased with only $100.00 USD.

Isn’t it amazing that it is possible to do so much with so little?  We have Food For the Poor to thank for that. They run an amazingly efficient organization, the largest charitable organization in the United States, and they help people in 17 countries. They are highly organized, and they know how to interface with local organizations and resources to make the most of every donation. Forbes has said publicly that according to their analysis, 96 cents of every dollar donated to Food For the Poor actually goes to help the poor, so that is one of the lowest administration costs of any major charitable organization.

Have you ever been around really hungry children? To be perfectly honest, I never have, except for infants who are crying because they want to be fed. It is difficult for me to imagine what it must be like for parents to hear those cries and not be able to do anything about it.

Millions of children around the world live in a condition of malnutrition. Look at the smiling little boy in the photo above, and take note of his pronounced skeletal features. Clearly, this boy is hungry in a way that few of us here in the developed world have ever been. I am not ashamed to admit that I have a soft spot for people who are living in these conditions. How can anyone look at a child like this and not want to help?

When we launched the project, we had no idea what to expect. We were hoping we could do some good. I feel like we did, and I thank you for participating. The experience has moved me, and my respect for Food For the Poor has grown.

I am happy to announce that we have decided to partner with Food For the Poor to help poor people around the world.

In the coming weeks, we are going to launch a major fundraising effort to benefit the poor people that Food For the Poor serves. It is my hope that you will join us in serving the poor of the world, by helping spread the word about the fundraiser among your friends and social media connections. We are going to set a huge goal, and strive to do something really significant.

Stay tuned for more details.

You may wonder what this has to do with a book about self-actualization. If you have read Flying in the Face of Gravity, you know that I feel strongly that there is no way to experience true happiness until you discover deep meaning in your life. This project is a great way to come to know what that feels like at a high level. Come on – join with us. Let’s change the world together.

At the start of the fundraiser launch for a limited time, we are going to donate 100% of our net proceeds to feed the poorest of the poor.
